Taking this week off to rest and restore myself!   Joe is doing the same.
First day we just organized, did the laundry and finished chores around home.

Then spent some time taking Petey, and Penello (Luis' puppy) and Luis to the park in Bayonne.
Nothing more complicated than that.

Taking some time off and  starting my one week  "staycation"

Went to see the new Indiana Jones movie at the Ziegfeld with the guys.

Dinner at Jekl and Hyde's, then spent the rest of the afternoon around the Columbus Circle area,  Apple store, Bergdoff's, etc.

We've made it.

Today  Joe and I celebrated our eighth  wedding anniversary.

I am thankful for every day that he has been my partner.

We celebrated by going to our favorite restaurant in Hoboken, Amanda's.

Leap Year Day

Yes,  this is my birthday.

Somewhat special because it comes only every 1,460 days but also some interesting events have happened in my life on years where I had an actual birthday.

1960 I was born of course. I know that makes me 48.  But I'm not shy about my age. Actually, at my age, I'm not shy about anything anymore.

1964 Huge head trauma accident.  At 4 years old, I fell from a second story roof top onto fabulous italian marble.  Although, stylish, not very friendly to the head at that speed. I was already declared dead, and after 46 minutes of cardiac and respiratory arrest, while surrounded by a nun, a priest, my parents and some very surprised doctors, I came back in very violent convulsions.  I would spend the next 4 days blind as a bat (brain swelling pressing the optic nerves) but recovered completely after a few months.

1968 Developed Bronchitis and Asthma. Had to finish second grade from home.  Also spent most of third grade at home.

1972 Already a year in the Us. My parents were sent back to Argentina because our resident papers were taking too long to process.  I was separated from my parents, and had to be taken  care of by my uncle for a couple of years.

1976 I reached my first enlightenment (the awareness of light)  and learned how to effectively let my mind affect my enironment.  Returned to Argentina the year after (1977) where I tough my parents how to do the same. We were back in the US.  in three weeks.

1980 January 11.  Entered Navy Boot camp.  So many things stories to tell here but non very pertinent to my birthday.  Suffice it to say, thats the year I became a seaman. Hee!

1984 Made the decition to resign from active duty. So I separated from the service by January 10 1985

1988 Being back in New York, and free from the fear that the military might find out, I began to explore my sexuality and date George (it lasted a year)

1992 Broke up with Peter  Who I had been dating since 1989

1996 Posed for American Bear Magazine. The shots were not published until 1998

2000 Completed the first full year living with Joe, who I married a year later.  Reached second enlightenment which makes it very tough because it makes you aware of both the light and the darkness.

2004 Found a possible publisher for my book began to work on it again.

2008 Really looking forward to wonderful things this year.  Almost reached third enlightenment.

Ok,  so I am shocked like most people about the recent senseless deaths of innocent people at the mall.

A New York paper ran the story today with this picture of the hunky cop!

Man, I want Santa to bring me one of those!

The Columbus Drive Mural has been a local landmark for many years.

Last night part of it was destroyed by a fire.  This is what was left. I hope they restore it rather than replace it with yet another condo or "luxury" rental.

Had a great weekend with friends.

Alex ( [info]strangewriting ) from Baltimore visited and spent the weekend with us.

Luis (
[info]ruicub) Joined us for the weekend as well and had a great time.  We went to the Dugout on Friday night.   It wasn't as lively as a usual Friday night but we had fun.

I took Alex on a drive tour of Manhattan and got to expose him to some movies on the gay curriculum.  (Headwig & Serial MoM)

Then we all went to PF Chang's for an incredible dinner.  (Killer cosmos!)

Sunday before Alex left we took in a movie at the theater (SAW IV)   They guys seemed to like it.  Although we enjoyed the entertainment value ov it, I personally lost interest in the story line.

Its Monday, took half the day off because I'm feeling under the weather.  Back to work tomorrow.

Happy Veteran's day everybody.  This was me in the service:

Joe took this really great picture of me when we were in DC.
I really love it.  Incredible what good lighting does.

I'm trying out a new look. I'm taking away attention from my receding hairline by emphasizing it..
I might shave the whole thing off in a couple of days.  It was fun to see the shocked looks at work.

And there is what happens when I dress it up a bit for work.

The human mind capable of many cool things. One of them is to form familiar images out of random patterns. I do this often when looking at wallpaper or other textured surfaces, but Photo Shop allows me to enhance and show what I see hidden in the pattern.

The first picture is the original.

And the second image is after changing some of the attributes of the shot.
Can you see the alien looking chicken with the extra crest?
